Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice
shall reign."

Today Nigeria celebrates her 54th year of being an independent nation. Virtually everyday we either sing or hear the piercing tune of the national anthem. 54 years ain't 54 days, we've come a long way, yes, but the big question is "How Far?" Are we at our 'Promise land? The wilderness? Have we really left Egypt? Today let us take a review of where we are, were, and the marginal distance to where we want to be.
Our heroes past fought a war we need not fight again. The greatest gift they gave us. The gift of freedom we literally have at our disposal. Are we fighting a war for or against ourselves? Let us evaluate our selves thus far to know if we are indeed progressing or the opposite.
Let us use this subheadings as a diopter to decipher where the pointer is directing us to. Please share your views.

With all these let us evaluate where we used to be and where we are currently and decide what we need to do for the betterment of our great nation Nigeria.

I'm of the strong view that we have left Egypt but we are like some hours away. We have a long way to go in the above sectors but it all boils down to leaderships. If we are fighting a war amongst ourselves then we are on a mission of no destination and no return. United will stand divided always falls. Let us be united in mind and purpose irrespective of ethnicity. Let us fight one course of living free with the freedom given to us, let us make Nigeria a better place for us and our future generation. Let the labours of our heroes past not be in vain.
